The Brief

Calstan Mechanical were instructed by Osborne to carry out the installation of new High level suspended hot water radiant panels, flow & return stainless steel pipework and compressed airline modifications at Wimbledon Traincare Depot. This particular specification was for the provision and installation of new radiant heating, circulation pumps, air and dirt separator, pipework, insulation, control and isolating valves.

The Scope

Isolation and removal of existing services including draining down of the existing low and high temperature boiler room distribution pipework.
Supply & Install 24 Zehnder high level radiant heating panels on overhead suspension chains.
Supply & Install 250m of MTHW 50mm stainless steel pipework for the Flow & heating pipework connecting to and serving the high-level radiant heat panels.
Supply & Installation of LTHW train maintenance pit heating pipework.
Provide adaptations to the existing compressed airline system to allow new service pit design to operate correctly.
Supply & Install Thermal cladding & Insulation to the entire pipework run.
Test, Commission, set to work and carry out client demonstrations and training.

The Outcome

After the successful client demonstration and seamless handover of the installations, all involved parties expressed their satisfaction.
